Applicants who completed a:
Teen Drivers Ed course
(ages 16 – 17)

Look on the back of your driving permit to see when your six months is over. You are allowed to test anytime after this date.

This certificate is issued by DrivingQuest if you completed our parent taught course. If you completed your 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a driving school then you would obtain it through the driving school.

Adult Drivers Ed course
(ages 18 – 24)

This restricted license is given to you by the DPS office once you submit your 6 Hour Adult Driver Education certificate.

Applicants who are:
25 and older
(No Drivers Ed required)

This temporary restricted license is issued by the drivers license office upon completion of the Road Rules and Road Signs exam. This exam is taken at DPS or through an Adult Drivers Ed program.
